Marie Curie Project Open Day

Within the outreach activities carried out at the Bioarch laboratory, today we had the opportunity to disseminate the aims of the Eurorefugia project to the high school students of the I.E.S Augusto Linares from Santander. The members of the lab explained them what a bioarchaeologist does, how we develop the current research and especially, how we study the animal remains found in archaeological contexts. In order to introduce them to the archaeologic world, we made a workshop where they learnt to distinguish the teeth and bones from several animals usually hunted by Neanderthals and modern humans during Palaeolithic.
